The story starts and ends at Bedruthan Steps, Cornwall. My Mum loved Cornwall which is why I set it in this beautiful county. The idea for the story came to me in a dream in July 1996, days after I’d made the decision I wanted to write an adult fiction book about childhood bereavement. It took me ten years to write the first draft and then returned to it after God laid on my heart it was time whilst visiting Jesus’ baptism site in 2019. Five years later, God nudged me to self-publish my book. Follow me on Instagram : charlottescandle
